Jonathan D Alston

CLEA
I received my B.Sc. from BYU. I earned an M.A. in Crim. from Simon Fraser University after studying the patterns of serial rapists. I went to the U of Alberta to get my Ph.D. and ended up helping out the police on a robbery series (late '99). Soon after that I was offered what was supposed to be a temp job and have been a crime analyst ever since. I am currently working with the RCMP on the Integrated Border Enforcement Team (IBET). I was proud to achieve CLEA status with IACA in July 2007.

Anthony M Berger

CLEA
Tony is the Director of Campus Safety at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. and holds the rank of Contract City Chief with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department. Tony has been in law enforcement since 1986 serving in many roles including as Crime Analysis Unit supervisor in Pierce County. He obtained his CLEA certificate in the fall of 2007. Tony is a past president of the Northwest Regional Crime Analyst Network and is an instructor for the IACA.

Lynn R Brewer

CLEA
Lynn is the supervisor of the Crime Analyis Unit for the Newport News Police Department (VA). She was one of the founding members and first president of VCAN and remains on the executive board as past president. She is a Certified Crime and Intelligence Analyst through the California State Department of Justice and was one of the first ten people to become an IACA Certified Law Enforcement Analyst.

Christopher W Bruce

CLEA
Christopher Bruce is the president of the IACA. He served as vice president of administration from 2000-2006 and president of the Massachusetts Association of Crime Analysts from 2000-2004. He has been a crime analyst since 1994, starting at the Cambridge (MA) Police and now at the Danvers (MA) Police. He teaches for Suffolk University, Tiffin University, and UMass Lowell. His interests include jazz, classical music, politics, history, and Arthurian literature.

Christopher Delaney

CLEA
Chris is Senior Crime Research Specialist for the Rochester Police Department (RPD) and Managing Analyst of the Monroe Crime Analysis Center (MCAC) in Rochester, NY. He has worked as a analyst since 2000, previously focusing on issues associated with gangs and violent crime. Currently, in addition to supervising a staff of 9 great analysts at the Monroe Crime Analysis Center, he focuses mostly on analyst management issues, strategic analysis, and administrative analysis. The MCAC is responsible for analysis of crime and intelligence patterns/problems across Monroe County, NY, and is proud to be the first Analysis Unit with multiple IACA-certified analysts. Mr. Delaney holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice and an M.S. in Public Policy from Rochester Institute of Technology, where he is an Adjunct Lecturer in the CJ Department.

Judy Fernandez

CLEA
Judy is a Crime Analyst with the Gilbert (AZ) Police Department (since 2002) where she works in Investigations as part of the Intelligence and Analysis Unit. She has a BA in US History and a Masters of Criminal Justice in Crime Analysis. She is a member of the Arizona Association of Crime Analysts and was CLEA certified by the IACA in 2006. She was named Gilbert’s 2009 Civilian of the Year due in part to her successful forecasting of a robbery series which led to a sting operation and arrest.

Shawn M Fisher

CLEA
I have been a Crime Analyst for the Omaha (NE) Police Department since 2003 and became a CLEA in October 2008. In 2009, I was thrilled to receive the Innovations in Crime Analysis Award at the annual IACA Conference. My educational background includes a B.S. Degree in Geography from NWMSU (Maryville, MO) and graduate coursework in Geography / GIS from UNO (Omaha, NE). I am a member of IACA and MARCAN.

Carol Lee Fitzgerald

CLEA
Carol Fitzgerald is the crime analyst for the Leominster (MA) Police Department. She began her career in 1997 starting at the Lowell (MA) Police. After that, she served as an intelligence analyst with the New England HIDTA Investigative Support Center and then a crime analyst with the Fitchburg (MA) Police. Carol is an active member of the Massachusetts Association of Crime Analysts and has served as secretary for the organization since 2002. Carol graduated from Hartwick College (NY) with a degree in psychology and earned a Master of Arts degree in criminal justice from UMASS-Lowell. She achieved her IACA Certification in January 2010.

Shelia Hargis

CLEA
I received a degree in Criminal Justice from Stephen F. Austin State University and worked as a police officer for four years. In 2000 I joined the Austin Police Department's Crime Analysis Unit. In 2003, I was assigned to provide analytical support for the Homicide and Robbery units. I provide a variety of products to assist in the investigation, apprehension and conviction of homicide and robbery suspects. In 2006, I was promoted to Crime Analysis Supervisor and I supervise five analysts.

Michele Kennedy

CLEA
I have been a crime analyst with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office in Colorado since 1997. I became a Certified Law Enforcement Analyst (CLEA) through IACA in 2005, and at that time, I was one of only two analysts to receive the certification. In 2006, I became the IACA Certification Committee Chair. I am also a Certified Crime and Intelligence Analyst through the California Department of Justice, a program of study through California State University at Sacramento. I received this certification in 2004. I hold a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Northern Colorado in sociology with an emphasis in criminal justice.

Karen L Kontak

CLEA
I am a Certified Law Enforcement Analyst and have a Masters degree in Psychology with a strong emphasis in research and statistics. I worked as a crime analyst in the Crime Analysis and Research Unit (CARU) of the Phoenix Police Department for 7 years and was promoted to crime analyst supervisor in December 2007. Currently, most of my work focuses on strategic and operational analysis and I am responsible for supervising both sworn and civilian members of our unit.

Jennifer L McKeldin-Coner

CLEA
Jennifer has served as a Crime Analyst with the Roanoke Police Department since 2002. Prior to beginning her career as an analyst, she was a dispatcher for the Virginia Tech Police Department. She has a B.S. in Sociology from Virginia Tech and an M.S. in Criminal Justice from Radford University. Jennifer has held several positions on the Board of the Virginia Crime Analysis Network (VCAN), and she currently serves as the President. Jennifer & her husband are avid Virginia Tech football fans.

Christopher G Mowbray

CLEA
Chris has been a Criminal analyst for 8 years and certified (CLEA) in 2007. He is currently employed by the RCMP in an Organized Crime Unit. Chris has held a number of tactical analysis positions including homicide, sexual assault and gang analysis. He has also worked on special projects such as the Rapid Response Team sent to Afghanistan to rescue a Canadian hostage. Chris has his M.Sc. in Criminal Justice from the University of Leicester as well as a BA and BSc from the University of Alberta

Pamela J Notar

CLEA
Pamela Notar has been a Crime Research Specialist with the City of Rochester (NY) Police Department since July 2007. Previously, she worked for 2.5 years at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. She also teaches an Intro to GIS class at the RIT Criminal Justice Dept. Pam holds a Master’s Degree in Geography from UNC Charlotte, and a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from SUNY Geneseo. In addition to being a Certified Law Enforcement Analyst, she is also a certified GIS Professional.

Sally P Olterman

CLEA
Sally graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Pre Law degree in 1999. Since then she has earned her Masters Degree in Criminal Justice and Crime Analysis. She worked at the Longmont Police Department for a few years, and then moved to the Weld County Sheriff's Office as an analyst for 8 years. Sally became an IACA certified analyst in September 2005. She now works as a Law Enforcement Specialist providing training for Bair Software, and IACA courses.

Susan C'ne Smith

Susan is a crime analyst for the Shawnee, (KS) Police Department. She has been involved in law enforcement for 18 years. She is the co-author of the book, Introduction to Crime Analysis: Basics Resources for Criminal Justice Practice. She is the crime analysis instructor for the IACP. She teaches at two universities (JCCC, UMKC). She is the current president of MARCAN and Vice President of Administration for IACA. She is a program manager for NIJ managing a Geospatial Technologies grant.

Lakhpinder S Takhar

Lakhpinder Takhar has worked for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for 3 years. After gaining a MBA from the University of Leicester Lakhpinder initially followed a career in finance before moving to Law Enforcement. His first appointment was as a Criminal Intelligence Analyst working for the Warwickshire Police. Lakhpinder is the Senior Analyst overseeing a unit of 4 Analysts responsible for policing the City of Surrey.

Alice A Wisner

CLEA
After a midlife career change, I have been a crime analyst with the West Des Moines (IA) Police Department since 2001. We are a steadily growing suburb of Des Moines with an approximate population of 57,000. I am the only analyst, so I work with all areas of crime analysis as well as some intelligence. I became a Certified Law Enforcement Analyst in October, 2009 through IACA. In my spare time I stay busy with 2 active teenagers, enjoy biking and spending time with friends and family.
