Annie Mitchell

Annie Mitchell is a Supervising Crime Analyst with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) which employs 69+ Crime and Intelligence Analysts. She has been in Crime Analysis for 29 years with assignments in patrol, intelligence, and federal task force operations and with the LASD for a total of 41 years. Annie is the training coordinator for the LASD Criminal Intelligence Bureau, Crime Analysis Unit and has developed an extensive 6 month training program for newly hired analysts.

Annie designed and developed a forty (40) hour California Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) Crime and Intelligence Analysis course, which is the first of its kind within the state of California. She has developed and taught training courses in crime analysis for law enforcement personnel on the utilization and expectations of crime analysts. Annie has received several awards within her agency, including the Distinguished Service Award for leadership and training development. She also was the recipient of the Southern California Crime and Intelligence Analysts Association (SCCIAA) Analyst of the year (2013). She held the office of SCCIAA President (2011-2013), Vice President of Programs (2014-2015) and is the current president of the association.
