George Kikuchi is an Analyst Supervisor at the Intelligence Bureau, the Philadelphia Police Department. Prior to joining the department, he was an Assistant Professor of Criminology at the California State University, Fresno. He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Purdue University, IN, in 2008. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the National Research Institute of Police Science, Japan, which is affiliated with the National Police Agency of Japan (roughly equivalent to the F.B.I. in the U.S.). His current research interests include social network analysis, spatio-temporal analysis of crime, the evaluation of criminal justice policies/tactics, and the application of data science techniques in public safety issues in general.
