Lauren Norman

Lauren Norman joined the Garner Police Department in 2012. Lauren was hired specifically to implement DDACTS in three small jurisdictions (Garner, Knightdale and Holly Springs) all located in Wake County, NC. This regional approach is a joint project with the NC Governor’s Highway Safety Program (NCGHSP) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In this role she is responsible for providing analytical support to each department, with the focus primarily on DDACTS.

Additionally, Lauren is an active member of the Wake County Traffic Safety Task Force. Lauren holds a BA Degree in Psychology and a BA Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Lauren has over ten years of experience in law enforcement analysis. Prior to joining the Garner Police Department, she most recently served as a Criminal Intelligence Analyst with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation specializing in homicide and violent crimes. Lauren was also previously employed as a Crime Analyst with the Raleigh Police Department under a Compstat driven operation.

Lauren has received an award from the NC Society of Surveyors for Excellence in Mapping and was recognized at the 2012 International Association of Crime Analysts Conference for a Criminal Intelligence Bulletin. Lauren is currently actively involved in the development of a NC Crime Analyst Association and is an active member of the International Association of Crime Analysts.
