The Tacoma Police Department is seeking a Crime Analysis Specialist. A Crime Analysis Specialist supports theses efforts by collecting and categorizing crime data from a variety of sources, compiling and disseminating a variety of crime summaries, correspondence, data and related materials, and performing quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of collected data. The work location for this position will be primarily in office with an option for a flexible work schedule.
Responsibilities Include:
Data preparation using Excel, Access and ESRI tools
Create, update, and maintain existing reports using descriptive statistics (Excel, SQL)
Enhance reports using GIS (ESRI) to aid the department and other analysts with identifying issues, patterns, and trends
Qualifications
Completion of four years of college resulting in a Bachelor’s degree, experience in program planning, research, or pre-professional work related to the area of crime analysis or data collection.
